Marshalling for BHF – Sat 19 July – HELPERS NEEDED

June13/ 2014

Every year for the past ages, we have helped British Heart Foundation by marshalling a checkpoint in the lay-by on the A283 for their annual South Downs Way fundraising bike ride. As well as having a nice day out chatting with friends, we raise valuable funds for Steyning AC as the Club gets PAID to do the marshalling. This year’s ride takes place on Saturday 19th July and we need a team of volunteers to help throughout the day. No one needs to do more than three hours, it is not difficult and it’s just good to talk to other people for a few hours, help check the riders through and enjoy some of our wonderful summer weather.

Please check your diary and let me know if you can help, and whether you prefer morning (approx 9:30/10am to midday/12:30), middle of the day (12:30 to 3:30) or afternoon (3:30 to finish around 6pm). It’s busiest during the lunchtime slot but we never need more than three people at a time. If you didn’t help last year, then please consider helping this year – we tend to get mostly the same people volunteering every year so it would be good to have a few new faces. If I don’t get any volunteers coming forward then I’ll be door-stepping people to ask face-to-face!!

Contact me, Joan, to put your name on the list of helpers –

Thank you
