Last Saturday Liz, Ann and I took part in the Brutal 10 in Bagshot. This was based in the army’s alpine training area…. The route consisted of two laps of 5k with seven hills and seven water “dips” per lap….. To be honest I think we were very lucky with the weather, it was about 4 degrees, dry and almost no wind… and on this occasion the water really was only waist deep rather than the neck deep that we have had in the past. On one of the uphills you had to be on your hands and feet to climb up it… and we did watch one person slide all the way back down to the bottom ! Luckily when it came to the water someone had given us a tip…. this area is used by tanks, they drive through the water making two quite deep grooves with a shallower bit in the middle… if you can find the middle it is easier…. at least until you mis-place your feet and suddenly end up in the deep bit !
To sum it up this was another great fun race, I don’t think any of us took it that seriously and we crossed the line together 🙂
