Bexhill Cross Country Round-up (Saturday 15th December)
It was infinitely less muddy  than the previous race at Plumpton (but still muddy enough to make the going difficult), and we had full teams for both Seniors Mens and Women’s teams so a brilliant result. In the Women’s race, Camilla had an excellent race and romped in at 12th place with Joan and Ruth finishing in 43rd and 44th consecutively. Lydia finished strongly in 66th position. Within Division 2, this  brought the team up to 3rd place in this race, and 3rd overall out of 20 teams after 3 matches so a big well done to them.
Relegated to Division 3 after last year, after Saturday’s race the Senior Men’s team finished up 5th in the Division out of 28 teams, with 5 runners turning up and running great races. Tom led the men home in 27th position, followed by Matt Hales in 47th,  Antony in 74th, Neil in 113th  and Phil Saunders in 131st (in his first ever Cross-Country race). If we can manage at least 4 runners at Lancing there’s definitely a chance of finishing in the top five overall in the Division (currently holding 7th place). Thanks again to all those who turned up to represent the club. Phil finished with a smile on his face and says he will be back for more.
