Dear All

Well, we’ve slipped back to third place, due to some very strong performances by Arruners. But we could still overhaul them for second! Especially if we can come out in force for the next two races!

I know that the recent conditions are putting people off. The races are suffocatingly hot and the bone-dry ground is hard on the knees. It’s tough – - - but this club is made up of champions! So, risk the heat-stroke and dehydration and sign up for your club! And, if we’re lucky, we might get a spot of rain to ease things a little? Here’s hoping…….

1. Highdown Hike….. 7.30 on Wednesday 1st August…… From West Worthing Tennis Club (park near there or at Highdown Gardens Car Park). Tough, hilly, off-road course, but always a fun, friendly event…………. (I need to do entries on the morning of Sunday 29th July, so entries by then please).

2. Tilgate Forest, Crawley ….11am on Sunday 5th August …. I’ve never actually done this race, but I hear it is suprsingly pretty. Mainly woodland paths. Parking at the K2. 5 miles……… (I need to do the entries after the race at Highdown, so entries by the evening of Wednesday 1st August please).

I should be there do give out numbers for the Highdown Hike. But, yet again, I am not around for the Tilgate Run, so some other kind soul will deputise for me again…….. Come in good time for both races please……. Please remember that for the Hike, the Race HQ is 5 minutes walk from the start. I will be heading to the start about 10 mintues before. For this race – if you are running very late, I will take your number to the start.

Happy running,

Daniel
