Sunday 10th June, we had a fantastic turn out from the club with 14 members in total to face the sprint Mid Sussex triathlon held at Burgess Hill, 400m swim, 25.5k bike and 5k run. It was great to see a lot of members wearing their new SAC trisuits for the first time and unlucky for Adrian (& other men) the potential nipple exposure Moyra was concerned about, did not appear to be a problem (which I am sure the women were sure happy about).

Some of the highlights included;

Poor Moyra splitting her tyre in the final section of the bike, which we guess would have meant she lost the chance to win as either overall woman or woman vet champ…

Simon Turks PB 400m swim of 6min dead (very close to the 5min club and lane 1!).

Lydia was there with her new bling bike, but her idea of doing the Hove Park 5k race right after the triathlon did not pan out, due to the massive blisters on both of her feet…

It also showed that the club is doing a great job in their swim training, as so many SAC members started right towards the back of the seeded swimmers, (the swim part is operated in a zig zap system where the slowest predicted 400m swimmers start first). Thus LOADS of poor old SAC members were hanging around nearly 2 hours after the first swimmers started.

275 people started and these are the results from SAC;

PS: For those that do triathlons or who are considering to do triathlons/duathlons, the club has ordered extra club trisuits, so email Gary Brind gb@owolff.com if you are interested !!

People rocking the new Trisuit;
