London2Brighton 60 mile Challenge

May 20, 2013 | Comments Off | Running

Can’t believe it! After 9 months of preparation and ever increasing longer runs, there’s just a week to go. My race number has arrived in the post and a Good Luck card from my charity. So this time next week, I’ll be actually doing it!

So here’s the challenge my running partner Debbie has got me into!
I managed to avoid the Brighton marathon but somehow find myself in the “60 Mile Smile” team with Debbie and Norma taking part in the 100k run/walk from London to Brighton on May 25-26th. Although we are aiming to start of as runners, I’m sure we will have to walk at some point during the 24 hours, especially on the tougher off-road hilly sections.

I am raising money to support a lesser known aspect of “The Donkey Sanctuary” – namely their work with children and local communities. This includes using the donkeys to provide therapy for children and the elderly, and developing life skills for children with special needs and disabilities.

However small a donation – it will keep me going on the day!
Many thanks!
