Steyning AC member’s 1st and 2nd in Brighton Marathon!

Ok it’s not the full Brighton Marathon – it’s the junior mini mile races. The mini mile races are for children between the ages of 7-17, the races take place early in the morning along the last mile of the marathon course. The children are finished in time to see the leaders of the marathon at the half way point.
Once again the junior runners in the club put on an excellent show at the Brighton Marathon mini mile races today. Over 2000 children took part, in one of the four U11 boys races Finn Halloren came 1st for the second year running, his sister Niamh Halloren finished 2nd in one of the three U11 races (approx. 200 children in each of the races!). The results are still to be published but I think other junior club members achieved top 10 finishes. Congratulations to everyone who took part in the mini miles or the full marathon – what a great day – especially once the sun came out and warmed us up!
Something to think about…. a number of us were mixing with the Brighton marathon winners at the Brighton Metropole Hotel this afternoon. Apparently the ideal running weight (to win the marathon) for someone of Andy Smith’s height is 50kg!
Apologies if you are receiving this twice I’m not sure it was sent the first time!
