From Hannah Caffetty

I have persuaded Keiran at The Barn to extend a neighbourly invitation to all SAC members.  He has agreed to offer 5 of his Dynamic Pilates classes for £15.  This is a ‘one off’ offer that I am sending out before he changes his mind!

Keiran’s classes concentrate on core strength, stability, balance and flexibility.  With his ecclectic music and eccentric personality he is an acquired taste, guilty of  somewhat inappropriate verbal diarrhoea but ‘appropriate’ hands on help.  After 18mths of training with him I am very happy with the results and we are good friends.  He has a heart of gold and a head full of knowledge.  His nutrition advice is worth tuning into, but ignore his anti running theories (he’s just jealous because he has short legs)!

The Barn’s timetable is online, so please take advantage of the invitation.  Ring or pop in to book a class and challenge keiran with your fit bods!

Well Done Hannah

Ann & Lawrence are hosting a bike-b-que next saturday (see map for directions).  If you want to learn a little about bike maintenance (do you know what a Boaden Cable is?), bring your bike (and a banger) and a greasy rag! Adrian will be on hand to provide advice, and put your bike back together when you’ve broken it…

ALL WELCOME from 15.00 to 18.00. I’ll be cycling up, leaving from the Leisure Centre at 14.30.

Can you email Lawrence to let him know you are coming (lawrencenaested@hotmail.com) 8-)

You can see George Middleton carrying the Olympic Torch here.

He kept his light under a bushel!

Great news!!!!  Steyning Stormers is now on a Tuesday freeing up even more of you to help out.  The sessions start at 7pm and we are in the fortunate position of being over-subscribed.  Liz and the team have done an outstanding job coaching the juniors which is demonstrated in their fantastic performances in the WSFRL.  However, more help is needed in order to break up the groups in terms of age and ability to really get the best out of them.

As you may recall I sent out an email last year and had some great……mediocre…… ok …. limited response.  After an initial flourish the ball was dropped, by me, and so now I would appreciate any volunteers coming responding and I will draw up a rota.

Those of you whose children have been to the Stormers will I’m sure appreciate what a great resource it is and so feel duty bound to email me back in the blink of an eye!  For the rest of you it’s probably best to email me rather than wait until I start badgering you.

Help is needed and assuming enough of you respond you won’t be called upon many times a year.  So go on don’t delay and take the opportunity to bask in the reflected glory of the Stormers when they challenge for the League title this year.

Thanks

A reminder that SAC has an hour pooltime booked on Sunday evening from 19.30-20.30. This is open to anyone, and is reasonably free format. There are coaches there – if you want advice, or just do your own thing. £3.00 per swim (optional 60p for homemade goodies supplied by Sarah!).

Southwater lake is (hopefully) now warm enough to swim in. We shall be there on Monday – 18.00 to 19.30. £10 per person per year. You need a wetsuit and a yellow hat (I’ll bring a supply of hats). If the weather is good I’ll be cycling up – leaving shortly after 17.00. Let me know if you want to cycle with us.
