MESSAGE FROM THE COACHES

Welcome back - WOW – what a way to start the year.

Well done to those that ran in the first West Sussex Fun Run League Event this year – we are currently top of the table – can we keep this up?

The next event is at Worthing Lido on Jan 29th. Hope to see you there.

We had a full house at training this week, please remember we are unable to accept any new juniors to our training nights. Please use the ‘contact’ area on the web site to registar interest in joining our training sessions.  

2012 is Olympic year!

The Olympic Marathon Challenge has started, well done to everyone for completing your miles this week.  

(2012 Challenge – reminder) We will be arranging a number of Olympic themed events next year. The first of these starts in the New Year and is called ’2012 Marathon Challenge’. The aim of the challenge is to run a marathon before the start of the Olympics! Sounds like hard work? Not for us…. The rules are simple you can only record a mile run each week (and that must be at a club trainin session) unless you compete in a WSFRL event, then your total milage would be 2 miles that week. There are no prizes for who gets to the finish line first – it’s an individual challenge. Can you make the finish line before the start of the Olympics? Prizes will be awarded along the way!

It would be great if we could get some parents to take on the challenge as well. You don’t need to be fast, just be able to jog/walk for 10 – 15 minutes. The more adults we have the safer it is for the kids.

Sports Hall Athletics will continue during January and February 2012.

Membership Fees – If you have not already done so please complete the renewal membership form and payment on the Website, or give to one of the Coaches at the next training session.

Can you help? 

We are always looking for people to give us a hand – this may be lap counting, timekeeping, traffic watching, or running.  If you can do this please let one of the coaches know. 

 Team leader / Athletic coach…do these roles appeal to you? We are looking for people to join the coach team, if you would like more information please speak to one of the coaches.
