Planning is well underway for next year’s Stinger event which will be held on the 1st March.
This is a very important event for the club raising a large proportion of the club’s income each year.
Without this we would not be able to support the coaching teams or maintain the clubhouse.
This year I have volunteered to organise the army of helpers that we need over the Stinger weekend.
I have already contacted a number of people who volunteered previously. Thanks if you have already responded.
Over the weekend there are over 100 separate job slots which is almost one for every senior club member!
There are jobs that need doing on the Saturday to get the Course and Grammar School Race HQ ready.
On race day we need helpers from first thing in the morning, through to the clean-up at the school late afternoon.
Please could you let me know if you are able to spare a couple of hours at any point over the weekend to help out.
If you are planning to take part in the race then please consider helping out pre or post-race.
I realise that the 1st March is a little way off but if you are able to put the date in your diary I can start to tick off the jobs on the list as early as possible.
For next year it has been decided that the Race Control will be moved from the Grammar School, and will now be collocated with the Radio Control station at Chanctonbury.
In order to support this change the club needs to find a long wheel base 4×4 vehicle that can be used to house the Race Control throughout the Sunday.
We will also need a third person to support the combined Race/Radio Control station.
If anyone can help out with this specific requirement or you know someone outside the club who may be able to please let me know
This is obviously a critical element to the successful running of the event that we need to get sorted out as soon as possible.
